Abstract

Ship's Log Lucy Clark (bio) Roses, silence, trees we'd kept indoors all winterwheeled outside, the thickening of thingsover the deck trellis—new growth encroaches.None of us feel safe. When I begin to turn the shiponto her proper course, questions flit past like fishin air anxious to return into their element. Nowmemory becomes a floor, swept, me rooting throughthe dustpan—rooting through an unhealed wound.Rolling towards, rolling away, the fact remains:we're headed for the confines of the earth.
