Abstract

1. 1. Phase response and phase transitory curves for 50 min monochromatic light pulses on ERG circadian rhythm in crayfish are described. 2. 2. Among the various wave lengths applied, there are conspicuous differences in the shape and characteristics in both phase and transitory response curves. 3. 3. Green and blue light elicit, predominantly, advance shifting phase, whereas red light elicits delays. 4. 4. These changes depend on both wave length and arcadian time of light stimulation. 5. 5. The adaptative significance of these results are briefly discussed.
