Abstract

A formulation is presented for homology design of structures based on the finite element sensitivity analysis in order to realize homologous deformation which enables us to define geometrical properties before and after the deformation. The governing equation of the chosen design variables is derived in the form of linear simultaneous equations with rectangular coefficient matrix, which is dealt with by the Moore-Penrose generalized inverse. The validity of the present formulation is verified by numerical examples concerned with elastic planar lattice frames.
