Abstract

Well differentiated papillary mesothelioma (WDPM) is an uncommon low grade neoplasm with fewer than 50 cases reported in the literature. Lesions are described as nodules with papillary like projections, usually found incidentally on abdominal exploration. There are no known risk factors for WDPM, but lesions are most commonly found in women of childbearing age, eluding to a possible hormonal influence to the disease. No studies have documented a relationship between development of the disease and obesity.
