Shell model calculations for 34Cl and 38K with the modified surface delta interaction including a tensor force

Abstract

Abstract The effect of adding a tensor force to the MDSI is investigated for the low energy spectra of 34Cl and 38K, and for the transition rates involving J = 1+ states in these nuclei. The model space includes the 2 s 1 2 , 1 d 3 2 shells and 0 or 2 particles in the 1 f 7 2 shell.
