Abstract

Corrections to the magnetic moment due to the particle-hole excitations between major shells are estimated for the five mirror pairs in p-shell nuclei (A = 8 − 13). The observed value of the isoscalar part in the (A = 9, T = 3/2) pair is larger than the theoretical value given by the shell model calculation within the p-shell model space. This problem is found to be quite difficult to solve with harmonic oscillator-type wave functions and the standard parameter set for the one-boson exchange potential.
