Abstract

Sheldon Kapen, MD, a pioneer in sleep medicine, long-standing member of the Department of Neurology at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and recently retired Chief of Neurology at the John D. Dingell Veterans Administration Medical Center in Detroit, died on November 22, 2012. He had recently been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
