Sheikh Jalal Al-Hanafi Al-Baghdadi, His Biography and Approach

Abstract

This study attempts to highlight the linguistic and scientific contributions of )Sheikh Jalal Al-Hanafi(, which were showcased in the roots of the content of his books, and this is done through studying them and showcasing the methods he took in his writings, as Jalal Al-Hanafi is one of the most prominent specialists in scientific and linguistic studies. Where he left us a rich treasure of literature that exceeded forty books of his writing. His scientific and linguistic contributions singled out various knowledge and sciences that he used to serve the Arabic language, in terms of researching topics that are dependent on the language such as its sounds, lexicon and others. All these are derived from the breadth of his scientific culture and the broadness of his talents and abilities. Therefore, in this research paper, we aim to review the most important sources of his linguistic material and explain his method of presentation and analysis. Al-Hanafi was not just a transmitter of ideas, but he had theories and opinions that were unique to him amongst the linguists, and he devoted special places to them for research and discussion of his works, relying on his own style, and his unique way, and presenting them on a scientific and objective basis.
