Abstract

Majority of the products the readers have encountered are manufactured using sheet metals. The sheet metals are used in air-conditioning ducts and furnace flues, air cowls, awnings, canopies, electronic enclosures, roofs, gutters, etc. Every time the readers receive or ship a product in mailboxes, they are using the sheet metal product. Sheet metal products are punched, stamped, or burned out of flat material and bent to the required shape. In this chapter, the readers learn sheet metal tools, their similarities, and how they differ from each other to product the needed product model. Additionally, they learn how to generate a sheet metal drawing on the template. The authors develop a heavy-duty metal bracket out of a 0.25-in. plate. The extrude function in Sheetmetal tab is used to draw open sketches with lines, which will turn into a Sheetmetal with the designated thickness.
