Abstract

AbstractDuring a biodiversity monitoring of woody and herbaceous plants in 2023, we observed the formation of new individuals through cloning in Velloziaceae species. Based on recorded evidence and scientific literature, we discussed the importance of cloning in maintaining the high dominance of these species in seasonal open ecosystems. In addition, we hope to shed light on the discussion of the importance of asexual reproduction through cloning and resprouting strategies in plants widely widespread in savanna ecosystems.Abstract in Portuguese is available with online material.
