Abstract
The process AB\ensuremath{\rightarrow}quarkonium +\ensuremath{\gamma}+X, for heavy quarkonium state such as J/\ensuremath{\psi} or \ensuremath{\Upsilon}, is considered. The ratio of the cross sections for this process in pp and pp\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} collisions is shown to be a very sensitive probe of models of quarkonium formation.
