Abstract

Theoretical relations are discussed for the flow of a two-dimensional Bingham plastic in a viscous-traction canal viscometer. Furthermore, this relatively simple model has been found to correlate the observed shear dependency of the system studied over a wide range of experimental conditions and has made it possible to interpret complex effects of temperature and relative humidity in terms of their respective effects on the surface viscosity and surface yield value.
