His World War II submarine duty was aboard USS LAMPREY (SS372). He attended a post-war course in electronics engineering at MIT, followed by sea duty on USS SEA CAT (SS399) and USS PALAU (CVE122). Designated for Engineering Duty in 1950 his duty stations have included Electronic Supply Office, Great Lakes; SupShips, Groton, Conn.; San Francisco Naval Shipyard; and Bureau of Ships. Naval history is a hobby, and several articles have been published in the US. Naval Institute Proceedings, The American Neptune and other magazines.
