Abstract
The sun is shining, so summer is really here and I am delighted to say prescribing does seem to be gaining in momentum.It is great to read in this edition the article on supplementary nurse prescribing for diabetic patients in secondary care, which states: ‘nurse prescribing offers a legal framework for prescribing by diabetic specialist nurses.’ Most importantly, nurse prescribing reduces delays for inpatients. This is good hard evidence and we do need more nurses such as June James to put pen to paper to state how prescribing benefits patient care.
