Abstract

To the Editor: Female pattern hair loss (FPHL) represents the most prevalent form of alopecia among women. Despite this, access to dermatologists specializing in hair is limited.1 Currently, the average wait time to be seen by an alopecia specialist at our academic institution is 12 months. To improve access, we implemented a shared medical appointment (SMA) format for FPHL. The SMA represents a clinical encounter where patients are seen in a group setting and has previously been used for acne, Mohs consultation, and vitiligo.
