Abstract
Lens antennas can be used in multibeam and scanning applications, but non-focal feeding can cause serious degradation in the performance of these systems, unless the phase error at the aperture is minimized. The solution proposed is shaping the surface of the dielectric lens. The results show how the phase error decreases and the antenna performance for large scan angle of the shaped lens is better than that of the non-shaped one. >
