Abstract

The problem of shape and impedance recovery of an arbitrary cylindrical obstacle from scattering data for electromagnetic waves generated by a line source parallel to the cylindrical obstacle is considered. Using the method of lines (MoL), an inversion procedure is developed that recovers both shape and impedance from scattering data for all angles and two different frequencies of the incident waves. Several numerical examples with synthetic scattering data and added noise are presented. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
