Abstract
The Shanghai Institute of Ceramics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS) enjoys an international reputation for its research, with a strong focus on advanced and functional ceramics. In addition to expertise in fundamental research, SICCAS actively exploits this knowledge through licensing agreements and its own development and manufacturing facilities. It is regularly ranked in the top five research institutes in China, across all disciplines, in terms of research output.
