Abstract

This geophysical study was carried out to resolve an hydrogeological hidden structure known as the Oasis springs. These karstic springs emerge in the Ossau Valley situated in the North Pyrenean Zone of the Western Pyrenees. Previous geological studies have attributed the fractured reservoir to the Urgonian limestones buried under the alluvial apron. The complex geometry of the reservoir is totaly unknown due to the lack of information in the studied area. We have therefore conducted a high-resolution seismic reflection and refraction survey, including profiles orientated parallel and perpendicular to the valley axis. Near the springs, we have also conducted an experimental 3D-seismic reflection acquisition.
