Abstract

SummaryA three‐story superimposed reinforced concrete shear wall structure model was designed to be tested on the shaking table in order to study its seismic performance with horizontal seams. Its failure mode and seismic performance of both the wall and seams were analyzed. The monolithic superimposed reinforced concrete shear wall was simulated by using ABAQUS, and the static pushdown calculation was carried out. The calculated results were compared with the test results to validate the finite element simulation, thus providing theoretical support for engineering practice. The results show that the new type of superimposed reinforced concrete shear wall structure can effectively transmit the seismic force and maintain the overall performance of the structure under various working conditions.
