Abstract
The Global Emergency Medicine Academy (GEMA) has recently been launched as an affiliate of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM). The aim of GEMA is to improve the global delivery of Emergency Care through research, education and mentorship. Ian Martin, the newly elected president of the organisation, has invited those with an interest in Emergency care particularly in Africa, to considering joining the organisation. Membership is free to SAEM members.
