Abstract

Single frequency network (SFN) has been widely used in digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DTTB) systems. In this paper, we propose a SFN structure for DTMB systems using satellite links as the main program distribution networks. The proposed structure is more suitable for constructing national wide or large area DTTB SFN under complicated environments. The network structure and key technologies of the proposed SFN are analyzed detailedly in this paper. Laboratory tests and field trials are presented to prove the validity of the network design. Experiment results indicate that the proposed scheme can support practical DTTB applications.
