Abstract
A single sideband (SSB) radio-over-fiber (RoF) system based on a dual-electrode Mach–Zehnder modulator has been studied including the effects of third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) to measure the spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of the RoF system. A theoretical analysis is given and simulation has also been carried out. SNDR fluctuates within 6.2 dB range for high input power values due to fiber dispersion. Also, the power of intermodulation product terms increases greatly at high input RF power. The results show the SFDR of 124.854 dB Hz2/3 for the considered system.
