Abstract

34 women who complained of vaginal discharge were tested for evidence of secually transmitted disease. Gonococcus was found in 1 patient (2.9%) trichomoniasis was present in 8 patients (23.5%) and 17 patients (50%) had candidosis. T-strain mycloplasmas were found in the urine of 7 patients (20.6%) and Haemophilus vaginalis was present in 1 patient. 5 of the patients (14.7%) showed no abnormalities. The husband of the 1 patient with gonorrhea was asymptomatic. No abnormality was found in the clinical examination. The 2-glass test showed clear urine 2 hours after previous micturition. Urethritis was found when the overnight urethral secretion was tested. Gram-negative intracellular diplococci were shown microscopically. The husband admitted extramarital exposure 9 weeks previously.
