Abstract

Sexuality is an important part of an individual’s identity. Historically, mental health services have ignored or misrepresented sexuality. This article explores some of the dilemmas faced by staff in secondary mental health services working with people in acute states of psychological distress or with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
