Abstract
Dissection of Para rectal plane is an imperative step in the total mesorectal excision (TME) of rectal cancer. With the advent of laparoscopic surgery more and more such procedures are being performed by key-hole manner. While performing the operation, the surgeon comes across many vital structures which lie around the pararectal plane. One of them is hypogastric plexus. Injury to this nerve plexus during surgery may lead to sexual dysfunctions in patients with rectal cancer challenging.
