Abstract

ABSTRACT The second in a two-article series, this work addresses what social workers need to know about sex offenders and public policy. Past and current models for public policy and their application to sex offenders are discussed. Measures such as incarceration, Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) laws, outpatient commitment, registration, and notification laws are examined. Implications for social work practice are discussed and recommendations are given for future research.
