Abstract

Changes in prepubertal sex hormone physiology is fundamental to the developmental changes observed during adolescence. Exogenous sex hormones, analogs, and antagonists are often prescribed for medical care of both mental illness and general medical concerns or may be obtained and used independently through nontraditional resources. This session will demonstrate important relationships between sex hormones and mental illness symptoms with a focus on establishing applicability for common clinical scenarios.
