Abstract

Dua Garis Biru is a movie produced in 2019 and directed by Gina S Noer. At the beginning of its screening, the movie received many pros and cons for fear of having negative effects on its audience. Dua Garis Biru takes on the theme of sex education. Sex education is a taboo subject rarely discussed by the general public. Through Dua Garis Biru, Gina S Noer tells the life of two teenagers who had sexual intercourse outside marriage, resulting in pregnancy outside marriage. Through cinematographic elements in this film, it illustrates the lack of early sexual education from parents and the school environment. This movie depicts the importance of sex education in preventing unwanted circumstances. The research method used by the author was the descriptive analysis with a reception analysis approach. Stuart Hall’s reception analysis used in the present study was through the audience’s point of view. This movie also illustrates how parents generally deal with serious problems that can threaten their children’s futures. Parents are sensitive when it comes to the future of their children.
