Abstract

While some research has been conducted on the relationship between sex drive and sociosexuality, little has been conducted regarding whether gender identity or gender identity fluidity moderates the relationship between them. Adults (N = 222) completed an online survey using the Sex Drive Questionnaire, the revised Sociosexual Orientation Inventory, the Bem Sex Role Inventory, and the Gender Identity Fluidity Scale. In line with hypotheses, sex drive positively predicted sociosexuality. Unexpectedly, gender identity did not moderate the relationship between sex drive and sociosexuality. However, gender identity fluidity was found to moderate the association between sex drive and sociosexuality.
