Abstract

Differences in clinical treatment and outcome between sexes in patients who suffer from ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) have been previously described. The Queensland Cardiac Outcomes Registry (QCOR) is a state-wide data registry which collects procedural data on patients undergoing coronary angiography from all public hospitals who have cardiac catheterisation capabilities. We aimed to compare sex differences in time to PCI and mortality in STEMI patients treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
