Abstract

Recently, Lester (1987) has reported that men are more romantic than women, a finding which may not generalize across a diversity of academic disciplines or professional orientations. T o test this alternative hypothesis, 180 engineering students (132 men and 48 women) were administered the Munro-Adams Love-Attirude Scale (Munro & Adams, 1978). Computer analyses were run by sex and by subscales, ( a ) Romantic Idealism, ( b ) Romantic Power, and (c) Conjugal Love. A table provides a comparison of means and standard deviations for men and women on each of these subscales.
