Abstract

Survival, quality of life, and the management of all situations after an acute myocardial infarction are dependent on the biography of the patient, i.e., his behavior in the past, his present conditions, and how the patient anticipates his future. This is my basic experience as a cardiologist and rehabilitation expert after 20 years. My hypothesis in this paper on sex after myocardial infarction is based on this comprehensive psychosocial and biographical concept of cardiac rehabilitation, because the individual sexual behavior of the patient is an important symptom of the patient’s biographical background.
