Abstract

Corticosteroids are commonly employed in the treatment of a variety of bodily disorders because of their anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic actions and their metabolic effects. Their long-term usage is often accompanied by a variety of side effects, one of which is the suppression of the inflammatory response. The diagnosis and management of such infections, when they occur in the oral cavity, can be extremely difficult, as evidenced by the case report presented herein.
