Abstract

In the United States, the risk of severe maternal morbidity (SMM) increased by 45% from 2006 to 2015. However, the risk of SMM in a subsequent pregnancy among those with a history of SMM is unknown. Thus, we evaluated the risk of SMM in subsequent pregnancies in patients with and without SMM in their index pregnancy.
