Abstract

Isospora belli is known to cause diarrhea in immunocompromised patients. We report a case of severe isosporosis in a patient with previously undiagnosed human T-lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-1) and T-cell lymphoma. This illustrates the disease association of isosporosis and HTLV-1, establishing severe isosporosis as a possible early indicator of immunosuppression. doi:10.4021/jmc775w
