Abstract
This paper presents a single-phase cascaded H- bridge (CHB) with an equal DC source. This type of multilevel inverter consists of numbers of H-bridge cells connected in series, each one connected to a DC power supply, as this type of inverter contains many semiconductor switches that are used to cut the constant voltage attached to this inverter and thus obtain an alternating voltage wave at the output. The type of modulation used in this paper is the sinusoidal pulse width Modulation (SPWM), which provides the least total harmonic distortion (THD), the pulse generated by this type of modulation was programmatically generated using ARM7 processor. Simulation and the practical result are illustrated in this paper according to specific operating conditions. The PSIM and Proteus software program was used for all simulation examples, and its outcome of results is consistent with the experimental results.
