Abstract

In accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the evaluating Member State (EMS), Austria, received an application from Dow AgroSciences (DAS) to set an import tolerance for the active substance haloxyfop-P (haloxyfop-R) in soya beans from import country, Argentina, at the proposed level of 0.5 mg/kg. According to EFSA, the data are sufficient to support an import tolerance of 0.5 mg/kg for the proposed use on soya beans. Analytical methods to enforce residues of haloxyfop-P were proposed. However, EFSA reiterates the recommendation from the Article 12 MRL review that a fully validated method and its independent laboratory validation (ILV) are required. Based on the risk assessment results, EFSA concludes that the proposed use of haloxyfop-P on soya beans will not result in a consumer exposure exceeding the toxicological reference values and therefore is unlikely to pose a consumer health risk.
