Abstract
PHOENIX — Students want a formal introduction to your campus, and research shows that orientation and first‐year experience programs help lead to successful retention of students across all types of institutions, said Alicia Moore, dean of student and enrollment services at Central Oregon Community College. Moore recently implemented a mandatory first‐year experience program that requires new students to participate in orientation, advising, and a college success course.
