Abstract
The essential oil from the leaves of Lippia integrifolia afforded, besides the known α-humulene, α-himachalene, β-caryophyllene, spathulenol and the recently reported bicyclohumulendione, a new compound that was characterized as a tricyclic sesquiterpene ketone, named africanone, by means of spectroscopic methods.
