Abstract
Psychiatry in the United Kingdom has overhauled its approach to the provision of services for adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). This shift is set out in a new policy document, Psychiatric Services for Adolescents and Adults with Asperger's Syndrome and other Autistic‐spectrum Disorders (Royal College of Psychiatrists, 2005).
