Abstract

This paper proposes a service restoration algorithm considered with priority customers and Distributed Generation (DG). By establishing an index of service restoration rate considering load grade, the power supply to the priority customers is ensured. Taking advantage of DG with regard to the service restoration in distribution networks, when the grid does not have enough capacity to restore the entire out-of-service area, the amount of load-shedding can be reduced with the support of DG. In addition, the paper uses an improved genetic algorithm which codes chromosome depending on different restoration situations. This algorithm greatly reduces the length of chromosome, filters out a large number of infeasible solutions and improves the algorithm efficiency. The effectiveness of presented algorithm is verified by practical examples.
