Abstract
Asthma is a complex and heterogeneous disorder characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) and airway remodeling. c-Abl (a nonreceptor tyrosine kinase) has been shown to play a role in AHR and airway remodeling in experimental asthma. Nestin is an intermediate filament protein that is associated with neuronal stem/progenitor cell. Nesprin-1 and nesprin-2 are LINC (linker of nucleoskeleton and cytoskeleton)-associated proteins that have been implicated in cell proliferation. We determined serum level of these four proteins in asthmatic patients.
