Abstract

A 77-year-old man from South Florida with no ongoing medical problems presented with a 16-day history of a pruritic rash on his right shin (Fig 3). The patient noted that the rash had been progressively advancing down his leg over the past 2 weeks. While speaking to the patient, he admits to frequently feeding feral cats on the back porch of his house. Previous treatment with oral erythromycin and topical econazole cream did not lead to improvement. The physical examination revealed a well demarcated, erythematous, serpiginous plaque.
