Renal biopsy specimens of patients during the maintenance phase of ischemic acute tubular necrosis show evidence of fresh ischemic lesions, suggesting recurrent intermittent renal hypoperfusion. Some of these new ischemic lesions may be secondary to intermittent hypotension 1 Conger JD Hemodynamic factors in acute renal failure.
