Abstract

Preparations of highly polymeric DNA are serologically active and give a specific reaction of complement fixation with homologous antiserums. Serological activity is determined by DNA itself and not by the protein and treatment by trypsin has no effect on its serological activity. Serological activity of DNA is determined by its polymeric condition.
