Abstract

Avar age skeleton remains from the Szolnok Rakoczifalva-Kastelydomb cemetery excavations were examined with the fluorescent antibody method for ABO blood groups. The results were statistically compared with those of previously studied Avar age cemeteries, and were found to be significantly similar to the Alattyan cemetery's second (II) chronological group. The similarities of the serogenetical profiles indicate a close ethnical interrelation of the respective Avar populations, when the geographical closeness, and the similarities in their grave furniture are also considered.
