Abstract

Welcome to the September, 2016 issue of JCD and I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the varied content and studies that we have assembled for this issue. JCD has had a wonderful past, and we are all indebted to Dr. Zoe Draelos who has guided the Journal over the past five years and has helped increase its scientific content to where it is now at a level to compete with virtually every journal in dermatology. I am honored and humbled to be taking over for Zoe as the Editor-in-Chief for JCD. For those that know me, I think big. I want to take this journal to new heights, to further increase the scientific articles and evidenced-based medicine that is crucial for us to increase the prestige of JCD. We will be working hard to increase the Journal's impact factor and to make everyone think of JCD as one of the go-to journals for everything cosmetic in the field of aesthetic medicine. This will include skin care products, it will include chemical peels and peeling agents, it will include injectables we use to improve the appearance of the skin, and it will include everything related to what is now known as energy- based devices. Journals such as JCD receive many articles to review and to hopefully publish year in and year out. In order for us to grow to a new level, we have asked previous Associate Editors to remain with us and we have added many new names to this esteemed group. Each one of these new Associate Editors brings to us a skill set and an expertise that I know will strengthen the core of the Journal. We are also adding new fantastic physicians as Reviewers to the Journal team, and we are encouraging those that are interested in joining the reviewer panel to contact us and we will use your skills after our vetting procedure for those who qualify. We want this Journal to reach new levels, and with all of your help, I am confident that we can do this in a very short period of time. I want everyone to know that we are all committed to JCD and we are all going to work even harder than ever to assure that we review articles in a timely fashion, that we provide appropriate feedback when needed, and that we publish your articles in a timely and efficient manner. We will, I am sure, have some growing pains as we accomplish these goals, but as I noted earlier, I think big and I want to see this Journal being spoken of as one of the premier journals in dermatology. I also want to thank the team at JCD and the team at Wiley for allowing me to have this opportunity and I welcome any and all comments from you, our readers. Future editorials from me will focus on some of the important articles that are going to be covered in the Journal or on special topics that are of importance in cosmetic dermatology. So enjoy this issue of JCD, its varied articles, and we look forward to what lies ahead for JCD.
