Abstract

The results of an experimental investigation of hydrodynamic processes in separated turbulent flows in the presence of superimposed flow-rate fluctuations are presented. A sharp shortening of the separation zone in the fluctuating flow is found to exist in the vicinity of Sh = 1. The dependence of the separation zone length on the superimposed fluctuation frequency is the same in the cases in which the obstacle is located in the regions of antinodes of both the flow velocity and the pressure.
