Abstract

The separation of uranium(VI) from aqueous solution by textile bound calix[6]arenes was studied as a function of pH value and uranium concentration by means of batch experiments. Furthermore, the kinetics of the uranium binding was studied as well as the possibility for remobilization of the bound uranium by solutions of various pH values. Furthermore, the solvent extraction behavior of mono-p-nonyl-penta-p-tert-butyl-calix[6]arene hexacarboxylic acid towards uranium(VI) was compared with that of p-tert-butyl-calix[6]arene hexacarboxylic acid in dependence on pH value and ligand concentration.
